ITHACA, N.Y. — Remanu J. Phillips, 29, of Newfield, has been charged with felony sexual abuse following a complaint that an adult was having sexual contact with a child younger than 11, according to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.

In a news release Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said its criminal investigations division received a report of possible sexual abuse Oct. 16 and “through further interviews and investigations into the case,” Phillips was identified as the suspect.

He was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, arraigned in Town of Ithaca Court and released. He is due back in Town of Ithaca Court at a later date.
