UPDATE AS OF 7 P.M. FEB. 3: Ithaca, Dryden and Trumansburg school districts have announced they will be closed Friday, Feb. 4. Lansing Central School District is continuing with its planned virtual-instruction half day.

TCAT is ending its services at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and will reevaluate road conditions in the morning.

Cornell University is closing at 8 p.m. Thursday and plans to reopen by 10 a.m. Friday.

TCPL and Meals on Wheels will remain closed on Friday.

UPDATE AS OF 12:50 P.M.: The Tompkins County Sheriff has issued a travel advisory warning to proceed with caution if travel is unavoidable.

ITHACA, N.Y.—A winter storm warning issued for Tompkins and surrounding counties went into effect at 1 a.m. this morning and continues until 3 p.m. Friday. Rain and sleet followed by dropping temperatures and nine to 12 inches of snow accumulation may make traveling dangerous.

Ithaca City School District and New Roots Charter School will both be closed Thursday. Ithaca College has gone remote for Thursday as well, and Cornell University’s spring semester began with two weeks of remote classes before returning in-person Feb. 7, 2022.

Lansing Central School District has virtual half days scheduled for Thursday and Friday, and Newfield Central School District will remain remote. (The middle and high schools were already remote due to a lack of staffing.)

Both the Tompkins County Public Library and the Community School of Music and Arts have announced they will be closed Thursday.

Tompkins County Area Transit (TCAT) asks that all riders consult the bus tracker (found here) before relying on transportation and recommends the Transit and MyStop apps which are updated in real-time. The full list of detours can be found here.

FoodNet Meals on Wheels is closed and recommends that clients access Blizzard Boxes until reopening.

The YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County closed early at 3 p.m.

K-HOUSE Karaoke and Allechant are both closed this evening.

The Finger Lakes Running Company is closing at 5 p.m.
