ITHACA, N.Y. — Cayuga Health will open three new facilities under the same roof at the Ithaca Mall in the next month. The new building, just larger than a football field, will be home to a new heart and vascular, primary care and rheumatology facility.

The heart and vascular facility is set to open March 25, according to an announcement from Cayuga Medical Associates (CMA) sent Thursday. It was formerly separated into two locations on Triphammer Road and in downtown Ithaca at Island Health and Fitness.

The Cayuga Primary Care facility, which was formerly located at Brentwood Drive and Trumansburg Road, and the Cayuga Rheumatology facility, which was previously located at Community Corners in Cayuga Heights, will both open April 8.

Jeff Penoyer, vice president of ambulatory services and chief operating officer of CMA, was quoted in the announcement saying consolidating these specialties under one roof is “simplifying the patient experience” while also “fostering stronger connections between providers and those they serve.”

Penoyer emphasized the convenience and accessibility of the new facility at the Ithaca Mall, including the TCAT bus stop located directly outside the office’s entrance. The new facility also features a new onsite laboratory to help patients avoid a secondary appointment or longer wait times to receive test results.
